Qianmen Market Street and Dashilan

Qianmen Dashilan literally means “big fence”. If the Forbidden City has been a capsule of China's royal culture since the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), then the Dashilan area in Qianmen is that of grassroots culture over the same period.
Dashilan is the oldest and perhaps one of Beijing’s most fascinating streets to explore. In the past, this district was cluttered South of Tian'anmen Square lies a quirky little district known as the Qianmen area. A prosperous business area since the Ming and Qing dynasties, the streets and hutongs (alleyways) around this district still bustle with people and atmosphere.
Qianmen is just in the south of the Tian’anmen square. The Qianmen street was a commercial center of Beijing more than 500 years ago. If you are interested in the Chinese traditional products, then it will be a good place to go. Qianmen area has been remedied as per the architecture style of the Ming and Qing Dynastyt from last year and now the old and famous shops just like the Quanjude, Pianyi Workshop, Douyichu, all of which are the representative of the Chinese traditional culture, are congested there.. Indubitably, the atmosphere of the Chinese traditional culture will be felt.
