Address: 500m east of Daliushu Ringroad, Xiaotangshan,Changping
This place felt like a Chinese version of a Disney-esque luxurious beach-side resort - except minus the beach because it's in Beijing. First of all, it's huge. There's a monorail that runs through the property (probably the slowest monorail I've ever seen though), and if you do not get dropped off at the front entrance, then you might experience a difficult time finding your way around (as was the case with us). There's a large hotel, separate villas, hot springs, bowling alley, tennis courts and more on the premises. The decor is very traditional Chinese, with elements taken from Summer Palace.
We went there recently for the hot springs, and booked a private bath (they have private baths for 2 or 4) and it was a nice relaxing experience, well worth the visit.
The place does seem a bit old and run-down though and the service could use some significant improvement - if you don't speak Chinese, you could be in serious trouble here. Also, the price gauging on drinks is ridiculous - 10rmb for water, 15rmb for soda, and you bring any of your own drinks or food, they charge a 10rmb surcharge.
